Reading the Body - Visual Indications to Understand Organ Energetics

Each color, line and marking on the face, tongue and nails holds meaning of your internal health. Reading the body’s presentation and changes offers practitioner’s confirmation, or better still, initial direction for the herbs to be consumed.  Some of these indications change when better health is achieved.

Understand the nuances of sitting with humans to really hear and see their medical histories and understand the subtleties of phrases and posture. Learn to read the map of the organ system’s health on the face, in tone of voice and even the toes!  Be able to look at the tongue and body to define their dosha for compliance. Identify indications of colors, lines, markings, rashes, and more, connecting to the stomach, spleen, pancreas, gallbladder, liver, lungs, kidneys, and the heart.

Every herbalist needs this class! Join us for a 2 day Reading the Body immersion. This is not a traditional class in the structured sense. It is a living, breathing experience of intention, practice and circle. A class deeply rooted in presence and relationship, science and clinical practice. This immersion will consist of both lecture and hands-on learning.  Please arrive makeup and nail polish free, ready to participate.

 William LeSassier - If you’ve done any in depth herbalism, you have likely come across his name. He has left this world but he was truly a visionary and truly one of the most influential figures in modern western herbalism. He was a prominent herbal teacher for a number of today’s leading herbalists, including Rosemary Gladstar, David Winston, Matthew Wood, Margi Flint, Paul Bergner and others. William is well known for giving us the Triune or triangular formulation theory which is widely used in clinical practice. He directly influenced the theory of vitalism and working with the whole person as opposed to treating symptoms! In Williams global studies, practices and experiences he also compiled a complex system of visual diagnostics, which for the past many decades has been imparted through the teachings and wisdom of Margi Flint. Margi is also passing on her legacy through her Reading The Body legacy mentorship and her text book The Practicing Herbalist. This system looks at the body as the greatest story teller and looks at the lines, wrinkles, colors, hands and nails, tongue, eyes, ears, and so much more.
