Honey Bush

From South Africa, honey bush is slightly sweeter, smoother, and little known cousin of rooibos. There are two species used for commercial production, Cyclopia intermedia and Cyclopia subternata. Named for its bright yellow flowers with a sweet honey aroma, honey bush is packed with vitamin C, potassium, calcium and magnesium. The healthful infusion also contains isoflavones and coumestans, which may help prevent tumors and osteoporosis. Honey bush is also used  to aid digestion and is used in South Africa to relieve colic in babies. A favorite tea, young children like it with a spot of honey and a dash of milk.
