In recognition of the 1st Annual HerbDay, The San Diego Herb Club and the S.D. chapter of the American Herbalists Guild (AHG) have joined together to plan an herbal information, resource fair. In addition to the A – Z of Herbs Exhibit, there will be information booths, demos, talks, and tours of the newly expanded “Trees for Health” medicinal tree garden.
We invite you to join the local activities of HerbDay 2006. Come learn about the growing, harvesting, culinary, medicinal and aromatic uses of herbs. Explore the benefits of traditional teas, herbal infusions, tinctures, essential oils, and much more. Become acquainted with local herb clubs, national associations, professional guilds and herbal businesses. Meet active herbalists from the San Diego area. Gain greater familiarity with herbs, increase your knowledge of the use of herbal products, and help build a foundation of support for maintaining personal choice in the use of botanicals. Gardeners, hobbyists, chiefs, aspiring and seasoned herbalists alike are all encouraged to come share in the celebration of
“Everything Herbal”
Five national non-profit organizations working together as the HerbDay Coalition* announced that the first annual HerbDay will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006 – and you are invited!
HerbDay is a coordinated series of public educational events celebrating the importance of herbs and herbalism through harmonized, independently planned activities that will occur on October 14, 2006 or during the week leading up to that date. The activities will occur at retail stores, botanical gardens and parks throughout North America. In addition to local and regional events, the HerbDay Coalition will produce a multi-day event at the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington, DC.
